Sylvia Kessler, age 89, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Tender Touch Heart and Home in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of South Fork Baptist Church, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved sewing, gardening and especially her pets.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kessler; her parents, Leebert and Lina Edgington Martin; two sisters, Marita Wood and Jeannie Talley and a granddaughter, Amber Dawn Howard.
She is survived by four daughters, Lina Wallace of Hillview, Karen (Mark) Walker of Virginia, Lisa (Steve) Howard of Brooks and Nancy (Ed) Lane of Hodgenville; seven grandchildren, Kim Woosley, Kristin Cook, Adam Cook, Shelbie Howard, Savannah Howard, Mason Lane and Amaris Lane; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a sister, Beckie Larson of Washington.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow alongside her husband in South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
