Rodney Dale Lewis

Rodney Dale Lewis, age 69, of Buffalo, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Taylor Regional Hospital.

He retired from General Electric Company in March of 2015 after 42 years of service; was Scoutmaster for 11 years; loved fishing with his best buddy, William and for the last 2 years, deer hunting with his brother-in-law, Bobby.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bernice Turner Lewis Wilson; his father, Arvil Lewis and a special uncle and aunt, Leroy and Pearl Aline Lewis.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Janice Lewis, having wed on June 17, 1972; a son, Christopher Dale (Angela) Lewis; two grandchildren, Alexis Marie Lewis and Kristopher Ryan Lewis; a brother, Greg Lewis and a niece, Angel Brown and her family.

“He loved our little boat and the two of us going out on it.  My husband was my best friend and my everything!  He so loved his family and mine as his own and cherished our son and grandchildren.”

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, May 27, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
