Opal Gladys Sharp Pendleton, age 101, of Hodgenville, a native of Greensburg, passed away, Monday, January 9, 2023, at her residence.
She was a housewife and loved to quilt.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Pendleton; two daughters, Doris Wilson and Betty Thomas Waddell; her parents, William Artist and Lillie Simpson Sharp; three grandchildren, Nathan Thomas McMahan, Tracy Ball and Ed Blakeman; a great-great-granddaughter, Catlin West; three brothers, Bob, Russell and Leon Sharp; three sisters, Mae Sharp, Mayme Ellis and Josie Smith.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Mays of Elizabethtown, Peggy Sullivan of Greensburg and Patty (Moe) McMahan of Hodgenville; two sons, Charles (Shelia) Pendleton of Magnolia and David (Pam) Pendleton of Mt. Washington; a sister, Joyce Wright of Tennessee; 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 54 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Rev. Carlton Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
