James Kenneth Florence, Sr.

James Kenneth Florence, Sr., age 84 years, of Hodgenville, passed away, Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was a master builder and a member of the Local 64 Carpenter’s Union and a proud United States Army veteran.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Marie Bohannon Florence; a son, Michael Kevin Florence; a granddaughter, Kristin Florence; his parents, James Henry and Germaine Bartley Florence; five sisters, Joyce Phillips, Judy Fehrman, Shirley Smith, Wilma Priddy and Sharon Florence and two brothers, Darrell Florence and George William Florence.

He is survived by two sons, James Kenneth “Jamie” (Alana) Florence, Jr. of Louisville and Bryan (Sheri) Florence of Hodgenville and two grandsons, Kyle (Taylor) Florence and Joshua Florence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2020 at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.  Burial will follow in the Union Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday at the funeral home.
