James “Craig” Higgins (February 16, 1954 - May 9, 2022) passed away peacefully at his home following a two-year battle with cancer.
Craig was a native of Hodgenville and a 1972 graduate of LaRue County High School. A businessman and entrepreneur, he was the founder and co-owner of Higgins Rig Company.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Juanita Higgins and a nephew, Todd Lewis.
He is survived by his spouse, Terra Lackey; a son, Rhett (Kelsey) Higgins of Hodgenville; a daughter, Allie (Michael Rittenour) Higgins of Nashville, TN; three cherished grandsons, Keegan Higgins and Cole and Reece Rittenour-Orwick; step-daughter, Stacey (Joey) Florence and step-son, Dylan (Susan) Lackey all of Campbellsville and their children and grandchildren; a brother, Ed (Linda) Lewis; niece, Christy Waddle and nephew, Travis Lewis, all of Hodgenville.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13th, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Richard Binkley officiating.
Visitation begins at 11 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
