Glenda Mae McDonald Burba, age 83, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
An active hairdresser for 64 years, Glenda always said she never worked a day in her life because she loved what she did. A graduate of LaRue County High School and Helman’s Beauty School, she was a member of South Fork Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior Choir and was voted LaRue County Mother of the Year in 1979.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Martha Bernice Sturgeon McDonald; a granddaughter, Olivia Simpson; a sister, Jane Clark; a brother, Joe McDonald; a sister-in-law, Norma Jean McDonald and a brother-in-law, June Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tom Burba; three daughters, Julia Ann (David) Humphries of Hodgenville, Tonya Dee (Russell) Simpson of Bowling Green and Kenda Jane (Geoff) Fritz of Bardstown; six granddaughters, Alexandria Simpson, Lily Simpson, Rachel Humphries, Emily Humphries, Madison Fritz and Kenleigh Fritz; a brother, Wesley McDonald of Hodgenville and a sister-in-law, Pam McDonald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
