Glenda Cobb Obituary

Glenda Cobb, age 62, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at her brother’s residence in Versailles, KY.

Glenda was born on May 29, 1960, to the late Arvin Kenneth Cobb, Sr. and Patsy Jean Weathers Cobb.

She professed a love for Christ at an early age and joined Lane Lincoln CME Church in Hodgenville.

Glenda attended high school in LaRue County and graduated in 1978 then attended Spencerian College and obtained a degree in medical coding.

Later in life, she moved to Lexington and joined Antioch Baptist Church and while there, was a faithful and active member, ushering and holding several positions in the church.  Upon her sickness, she returned back to Hodgenville and rejoined her home church at Lane Lincoln, always encouraging others to come to church.

She was a pillar in our family and her presence will truly be missed by all of us.  She loved her family whole heartedly and it always showed in her actions.  She was always somewhere being supportive, showing encouragement and just being there.  Although she never had any children of her own, she was a mother-figure to many, especially her nieces and nephews.  She always tried to make it to as many of their activities as she could.  She loved to cook and made sure that if she fed you, that you were going to get full.

She fought the good fight and even when she grew weary she never complained.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Amanda Sanders and a brother, Paul Cobb.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a brother, Arvin (Dawna) Cobb, Jr. of Versailles; her sisters, Pamela Hernandez and Nada Cobb, both of Hodgenville and a host nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, at First Baptist Church Hodgenville, 404 South Lincoln Boulevard, with Rev. John C. Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Hubbard Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
