Frances L. “Obbie” Chaudoin, age 94, of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was the oldest living member of Magnolia Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she taught children in Sunday School for many years.
Frances was joint owner of M&C Grocery in Magnolia with Gerald McCubbin for 35 years. She was a volunteer at Sunrise Manor for more than fifteen years and was a member of the Red Coats. Her hobbies were cooking and working crossword puzzles. Her cooking was fantastic and everyone left her table stuffed.
She was born on June 10, 1927 in Hart County to the late Henry Ernest and Sally Grace Ragland Chaudoin and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Genrose Chaudoin Druen, Kattie Chaudoin Turner and Margie Chaudoin Pickett and a brother, Ray “Perk” Chaudoin.
Frances is survived by a sister, Audrey “Diddle” Chaudoin McCubbin of Magnolia and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special nephew, Reggie McCubbin and his wife Patti, of Magnolia, whom she thought of as a son and daughter and their children and grandchildren, Whitney McCubbin Meredith (Andy) and J. Curtis McCubbin (Misty) and Madeline Meredith, Hudson Meredith and Harrison McCubbin.
Due to the severity of the COVID pandemic the family will have a private service with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of the arrangements.
