Floyd R. "Fats" Evans

Floyd R. “Fats” Evans, age 80, of Mt. Sherman, passed away, Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his residence.

He was the retired owner/operator of Evans Logging Company and an avid out doors man.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lynn Evans and his parents, Jodie Daniel and Ayra Melina Brown Evans.

He is survived by three daughters, Angie Thomas of Hodgenville, Felicia Evans of Buffalo and Trena Evans of Hodgenville; a son, Todd (Brittani) Elmore of Mt. Sherman; three sisters, Elsie Burba of Hodgenville, Betty Smith of Summersville and Linda “Tootsie” Skaggs of Buffalo; two brothers, James Evans of Hodgenville and Herman “Peewee” Evans of Mt. Sherman; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a special friend, Linda Thompson.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, May 15, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Rev. Shannon McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Sherman Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday and after 9:30 am Saturday at the funeral home.
