Elaine Breeding

Virginia Elaine Breeding, age 83, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Bonnieville, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin surrounded by her family.

She was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church where she was actively involved in the senior adult choir and Sunday School class. She loved spending time with family and friends as well as taking care of her garden and landscaping.

Elaine was a 1958 Graduate of Munfordville High School and 1959 Bowling Green Business University. She was the co-owner and office manager of a family business that she and her husband operated for many years, employed by the U.S. Army Civil Service where she held multiple positions. In addition she spent a large portion of her life caring for her family which she loved unconditionally.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Breeding, whom she loved, adored and spoiled for 31 years; her parents, Harold and Virginia Druen Walters and a son, Phillip Breeding.

Elaine is survived by her children, Keith (Zina) Breeding of Elizabethtown, Bonnie (John) Bennett, Judy (Bobby) Duvall all of Glasgow, Patricia Russell of Nashville Tennessee, David Breeding of Bonnieville and Debbie (Dale) Painter of Elizabethtown; a granddaughter, Kristen (Jared) Ruhl; a great-grandson, Miles Ruhl; several additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren and most recently a great-great-granddaughter. Over the past year Elaine was also blessed with some amazing care givers that our family came to love dearly.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Friday, April 21, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville. Burial will follow in the Bonnieville Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Thursday and after 10 am on Friday at the funeral home.
