Cleo Miller Spratt, 93, of Hodgenville, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville.
The sixth of thirteen children, she was born to the late Charles Leslie Miller and Alta Miller on Aug. 18, 1927 in Magnolia.
Mrs. Spratt was a graduate of Magnolia High School and Campbellsville College. She was an admired and popular classroom teacher at Hodgenville Elementary for 33 years, retiring in 1990. Upon retirement from classroom duties Mrs. Spratt continued serving the LaRue Co. School District several years as a GED instructor and teacher for homebound students.
Mrs. Spratt was member of Parkway Baptist Church in Hodgenville.
Mrs. Spratt was united in marriage to Carl W. Spratt on July 14, 1945. He preceded Mrs. Spratt in death Nov. 15, 1998.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Mrs. Spratt was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Spratt; a great-grandson, Caden Wesley Coffman; four brothers, Harold Burton Miller, Charles Robert “Bobby” Miller, Donald G. Miller, and Dr. Ronald Miller; and six sisters, Ruby Lillian Cook, Edna Bernice Turner, Dorothy “Day” Tharp, Helen “Tootsie” Catlett, Mary Evelyn “Dolly” Jackson, and Sue Carol Meredith.
Mrs. Spratt is survived by her daughter-in-law, Doris Bell Spratt of Hodgenville; three grandchildren, Amy Kristin Jones of Evansville, Indiana; Jonathan Miller Spratt and his wife Tiffany; and Ginny Lea Coffman and her husband Robbie, all of Hodgenville; three great-grandchildren, Keegan Miller Spratt, Kayleigh Anne Spratt, and Robert Maddox Coffman. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Ann Peace of Hodgenville; and one brother, Dr. James E. “Jimmie” Miller of Lexington, KY.
Funeral service for Mrs. Spratt will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the chapel of Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. DeWayne Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
