Brenda Carole Clopton, 76, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Magnolia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 20, 2022, while surrounded by family.
She was a member of Gideon’s International Auxiliary, where she purchased and gave out countless bibles to anyone she met both at home and abroad.
Brenda had a love and passion for sharing the gospel and witnessing to the lost. Her home was always open to strangers and the needy.
She was a member for many years at South Fork Baptist Church where she served in missions, sang in the choir, helped found the Hispanic Ministry. She also served and supported many other churches with their gospel outreach. She travelled to Africa and Russia on multiple missions trips to help spread the gospel around the world.
Brenda was a member of The Daughters of the Revolution (DAR).
She was a Realtor Broker and Owned five Re/Max Offices, and two Century 21 Franchise offices, and Real Estate Professionals. She also owned and managed two Carpet and Furnishing Stores.
As a friend recently stated “No one loved or dreamed bigger than Brenda!”
Brenda will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15 (ESV)
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Tom” Clopton and her parents Albert and Gladys Terry of Linwood.
She is survived by her two sons, Troy (Krista) Clopton and Trevor (Candace) Clopton; eight grandchildren Timothy (Andrea), Grant, Callie, Daphanie, Gavin, Gunnar, Garrett and Audrey Clopton; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Brayden Clopton; her brother, Sam (Patty) Terry; three nieces, four great-nephews, two great-nieces and a great-great-nephew and niece.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 28, at South Fork Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan Carl and Bro. Norm Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
