Audry Chaudoin “Diddle” McCubbin, age 90, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
Mrs. McCubbin was born on May 2, 1932 to the late Henry Ernest and Sally Grace Ragland Chaudoin of Hart County.
She managed M&C Grocery in Magnolia with her sister, Frankie Chaudoin for 35 years, from 1955 until their retirement in 1990. Audry was an avid fan of the UK Wildcats basketball team and the Atlanta Braves. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their many activities, some of which included swimming, baseball, basketball, school programs and Christmas plays at church. Audry was a lifelong member of Magnolia Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she formerly taught Sunday School.
Mrs. McCubbin was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gerald McCubbin; a brother, Ray “Perk” Chaudoin and four sisters, Katty Turner, Genrose Druen, Margie Pickett and Frankie “Obbie” Chaudoin.
She is survived by her son, Reggie (Patti) McCubbin; two grandchildren, Whitney (Andy) Meredith and Curtis (Misty) McCubbin; three great-grandchildren, Madeline Meredith, Hudson Meredith and Harrison McCubbin; several nieces and nephews along with a special friend, neighbor and caregiver, Marcie Weller.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, March 10, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia.
A family graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating.
