Arthur Thomas “Tom” England, age 74, of Buffalo, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
A native of Green County; he worked at several grocery stores in Greensburg until moving to LaRue County in the early 70’s. He was an entrepreneur, having several interests over the years including pallet recycling, bus lines and truck driving. Tom was a member of Mt. Zion Separate Baptist Church near Magnolia and the Gideon’s International, where he enjoyed distributing Bibles and was trustee for the Nolynn Association of Separate Baptists Campground near Buffalo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulys E. and Frances Carter England and three brothers, Jimmy and his infant twin and Jerry.
Tom is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue England; six children, Bobby (Lissa) England, Billy England, Angela (Mike Akin) England, Michael (Leigh Ann) England, Amanda (Nathan) Beeler and Mathew (Shaun) England; a step-son, Ryon Rogers; three brothers, Charles Dewey (Diane), Sammy Wayne and William Leon “Tadpole”; four sisters, Mary Frances, Betty Ann, Tammy and Lucy; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. (ET) Wednesday, July 27, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home with Revs. James Crim, Neal Price and Gerald Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. (ET), Tuesday and after 8 a.m. (ET) Wednesday at the funeral home.
