Aline Hornback Mortensen, age 73, of Hodgenville, went home with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 9, 2021. We are sure Dad and the angels were rejoicing when they met her!
Chances are, if you lived in Hodgenville, you knew her. For more than 20 years she managed the Dollar General Store in Hodgenville, prior she worked at Nationwide Uniform for 19 years. Mom never knew a stranger and likely knew your kinfolk.
A wonderful and loving wife, mom, mammaw, great-mammaw and friend, she always put her family before herself. She had a great wit and could even get a little sassy at times. We have so many memories to laugh about and some that make us cry. We knew after Dad passed away, Mom would be lost on this earth. They were married 52 years and it was so hard to let him go. They are now together at last.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Mel Mortensen; her parents, Richard B. and Atha T. Hornback; five brothers, Paul, John, Bill Otis and Edward and four sisters, Katherine, Geneva, Mary and Lucille.
She is survived by her children, Renee (Neal) Wolford and Marty (Missy) Mortensen; grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Lee, Michael (Emma) VanDyke, Ian (Corey) Mortensen, Audrey (Marty) Nagel, Sarah Mortensen and Gabby Colvin; a brother, Jim (Ruth) Hornback; a sister, Betty Klokner and great-grandchildren, Zayden and Zander.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 noon, Monday, April 12, 2021, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
Private graveside services will be held at Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideons International, PO Box 25, Hodgenville, KY 42748, to help spread the Word of God.
