Roseleen Dixon Price was born on March 30, 1927, in Canmer, Hart County, Kentucky, to the late Mary Ellen Dixon and passed away, Saturday, June 23, 2018, in Louisville.
She was the oldest of three children and was raised by her grandmother, “Mama Taylor” (Sallie Ann Dixon Taylor), who taught her to be an excellent cook, to sew, and to appreciate nature and growing flowers among other things. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church.
Roseleen pledged her love to Donohue Thurman Price on November 21, 1951. During their 58 year marriage, God blessed them with three children. Donohue served as the pastor of First Baptist Church, Hodgenville, for 43 years and Roseleen poured her heart and soul into the church as its First Lady.
Her husband, Rev. Donohue Price, preceded Roseleen in death. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Paul Donohue (Andalee) Price, Jan (Carl) Brazley and Dan (Elizabeth) Price; five grandchildren, Sunni Rose (Steven) Harris, Nikolas Brazley, Cody Campbell, Courtni Price and Chloe Price; two great-grandchildren, Jude and Luke Harris; two sisters, Louetta Hill and Doris Jean Sloan and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 29, 2018 at First Baptist Church, Hodgenville with Elder Jerry Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 12 noon Friday at the church until time for services.
