Robert "Bob" Lee Ward

Robert Lee “Bob” Ward, age 71, of Upton, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father, April 1, 2019, at his home.

Bob was an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired mechanic from Sonora Truck Stop after 23 years of service and later had his own mechanic shop and dozer business.

He was preceded in death by his parents, G. C. “Duck” and Olive Catherine Brooks Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Ward; a son, Brian Ward of Magnolia; three grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Amber Ward and a great-granddaughter, Preslee Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Benningfield Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday and after 10 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.
