Rebecca Ann "Becky" Jewell

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Jewell, age 69, of Linwood, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.

Her faith was in Jesus Christ and she was a member of Linwood Baptist Church; a 1968 graduate of Eastern High School in Louisville; was active with the Linwood Volunteer Fire Department since its inception in the 1970’s and was one of the first female EMT’s and firefighters in the region.  She also enjoyed playing “Sunshine” the clown at the Linwood Ole Fashion Days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Jewell; a son, Zachary Harkness; her mother, Rita Jean Meyer Centers; her father, Robert Harold Parrott, Sr.; her step-“daddy”, Vernon Centers and a brother, Bob Parrott II.

Becky is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Melissa) Harkness of Linwood and David (Tracy) Harkness of Elizabethtown; two grandsons, Jamison and Joshua Harkness; a sister, Verna (Danny) Wilkerson of Alabama and two brothers, Tony (Sharon) Centers of Munfordville and Tim (Kris) Centers of Linwood.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon (ET), Friday, August 2, 2019, at Linwood Memorial Gardens with Bro. Terry Shelton officiating.

Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of the arrangements.
