John Handley “Hank” Thompson, age 83 years, of Elizabethtown, passed away, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his residence.
He was born October 29, 1934.
He retired from Louisville Gas & Electric after 27 years of service and was a farmer and a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pearl Slayton Thompson; a sister, Versie Clopton; and seven brothers, Gabriel, William Douglas, Leamon, Joe, Edward, Jesse and Alvin Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Eads Thompson; a son, Roger Thompson of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Anetra (Bruce) Palmer-Ball of Louisville; two sisters, Geneva (Buddy) Milby of Magnolia and Martha Jane Turner of Hodgenville; a brother, Clarence (Peggy) Thompson of Creal and a close family friend, Cheynna Grissom, whom he loved like a granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-8 PM Saturday and after 10 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
