Henry L. Gardner, age 78, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was a member of Lincoln Memorial Baptist Church and retired from H.J. Scheirich Cabinet Company after twenty-seven years of service. Henry was a loving husband and a great father who loved serving the Lord, helping others and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linnie Gardner, Sr. and Selma Bell Gardner; a sister, Mary Margaret Skaggs and four brothers, Carl Leroy, Marvin, Harrison “Shorty” and James “Tubby” Gardner.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Gray Gardner; a daughter, Sandy (Hilbert) Bottoms of Elizabethtown; two sons, Ricky (Karen) Gardner of Elizabethtown and Marty (Tina) Gardner of New Haven; four sisters, Martha “Jean” Bianco of Illinois, Gracie Shelton and Doris Lee (Stephen) Skaggs all of Hodgenville and Mary (Garland) Gibson of Buffalo; five brothers, Ray (Elizabeth) Gardner, John “Bobby” (Barbara) Gardner all of Louisville, Linnie (Joyce) Gardner of Hodgenville, Charles (Nancy) Gardner of Mt. Sherman and Norman (Diane ) Gardner of Boston; three grandchildren, Nathan Bottoms, Cody Kennedy and Toby Gardner and four great-grandchildren, Tristen, Thomas, Luke and Lynzie Bottoms.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Dwayne Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Saturday and after 10 AM, Sunday at the funeral home.
